April 2026 Prayer Targets
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
For the Church, Body of Christ, we pray:
-
God's powerful presence in our Resurrection Sunday celebrations on April 5th, so that all who gather will experience the redeeming life and love of Jesus Christ in a transformative way. \o/
-
God's drawing of many to repentance and faith, and for churches' readiness to welcome new attenders and disciple new believers.
-
God's hand of protection over congregations, for alertness and discernment of church security teams, that any opportunistic plans for deception or harm be thwarted.
For the persecuted Church in Somalia,
-
where being known as a Christian is a death sentence, no questions asked. Pray that the reality of God's nearness will increase their faith, bring the assurance of His love, resulting in supernatural fruitfulness and life. www.opendoors.org/en-US/persecution/countries/somalia/
For our nation, state and communities, we pray:
-
God's mercy and wisdom to lead us quickly to the end of this conflict;
-
For new leadership of Iran to be established that will bring peace and stability to its people and the world.
-
For wisdom and protection for our military and peace for their families
-
For wisdom and provision for farmers facing fertilizer shortages and hard decisions. www.npr.org/2026/03/26/g-s1-115240/iran-war-strait-hormuz-fertilizer-exports-farmers-planting-season
-
And for the many businesses and families bearing the burdens of rising costs.
-
Recovery for Hawaii's devastating storm damage and flooding, wiping out whole communities. Pray God's love and provision to be brought through His people, for many to put their hope in Christ.
-
Preparations for the National Day of Prayer on Thursday. May 7, 2026, may our hearts be stirred and our schedules prioritize this annual gathering in unity for God's glory and our privilege of seeking Him for our national healing. For more information, check here for various local gatherings as the day gets closer www.nationaldayofprayer.org/equipping/prayforamerica
-
For leaders to step forward in every city, with freedom to reach across denominational lines, and finding grace to enjoy unity in diversity. Pray for the provision of public venues and smooth cooperation in planning.
-
For Albany's local Prayer breakfast, hosted by Eastside Christian Church from 8am-9am. Registration for the breakfast opens on April 9th. https://www.eastsidechristianchurch.com/ Pray that the many civic invited leaders will attend!
-
For candidates running in our primaries to be marked by righteous, truth-telling campaigning. Pray that dark agendas be exposed, and every impulse toward slander, manipulation, or division be restrained.
-
For voters, especially those who've slipped into cynicism and apathy, may they be motivated to engage by understanding the impact their vote will have on their neighbors, their community, the future of our state, and nation.
-
For our elected officials in Salem who were given a leatherbound Bible imprinted with their name, title, and an outline of Oregon! Pray especially for the non-Christians to read and be transformed! Pray blessings on those who donated for this gift, and for Laurie Irion, our State Chaplain who is personally distributing them.
