October 2026 Prayer Targets

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

For the Body of Christ, we pray:

Awaken Your people from our idolatry of comfort, that we may discern spiritual battles that hinder our progress in holiness. Lord, show us where we've been caught up in worldly wisdom. We ask forgiveness for where we've failed to be the Jesus others need to see in us. Help us to walk in the fear of the Lord, renewing our minds in Your truth, unwavering in service to Your kingdom's cause.

 

For The Persecuted Church in Sudan, we pray for Your powerful light to push back the darkness in this war-torn nation.  Strengthen and encourage Your people, that they may continue to be Your faithful witnesses. Make a way where there seems to be no way for supplies to reach those in desperate need; support those who sacrifice so much to provide for the many who've been displaced. In Your mercy, turn the hearts of the wicked to repentance, and bring peace to the warring factions. For our Justice system: 

Our judges, district attorneys, and all who handle criminal cases to have wisdom in deciding who to prosecute and how heavily to charge them; for courage to uphold justice without partiality (Exodus 23:6, Leviticus 19:15, Deuteronomy 16:18–20; Proverbs 21:15). May they weigh evidence carefully, protect the public, and not be swayed by pressure, ideology, or fear. 

 

 For Law Enforcement:

• for God's leading them throughout their shifts to be near those in need

• for their wisdom and protection as they protect us;

• for their integrity in respecting constitutional rights and in gathering evidence lawfully without making mistakes that would lead to dropped charges, 

• for their resilience against frustration and burnout and healthful stress management.

 

Preparation for November elections:

May voters do their due diligence to seek God-honoring candidates with righteous priorities, discerning who will best serve the needs of our state and our communities. May candidates have integrity to speak truthfully and without manipulation; may lies, deception, and pride be exposed.

 

For food pantries and helping agencies in our communities:

Pray for God’s wisdom and strength for their leaders and volunteers. Pray for an abundant supply of food, financial gifts, and other needed resources as they respond to increasing needs. May individuals and families seeking help be met with compassion, dignity, and the love of Christ, and may God use these ministries to bring hope and transformation to communities throughout our region.

 

For college ministries starting up:

• God’s favor across every sector of campus life — that He would raise up godly leaders who connect well with students and model purity and devotion to the Word.

• Lift up Campus Ambassadors, the Navigators (especially their outreach to military veterans and new students), CRU, and the Chinese Church of Corvallis as needing a new student leader to connect with students (having no one to replace those who've graduated).

• For international students longing for community, that God would surround them with welcoming believers and meaningful relationships.

• We pray a great harvest to come through students discovering who Jesus is through Bible studies and loving relationships!
