January 2025 Prayer Targets

“... let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Hebrews 12:1-3    â€‹

For the Body of Christ, we pray:

  • With our eyes fixed on Jesus, may we embrace the joy He offers as we persevere and purposefully run the race set before us.

  • In humility, may we reflect on lessons learned and confidently step into greater faith, trusting in His will to be done in and through us this year.

  • For churches experiencing leadership transitions, may they reflect God's grace, wisdom, and unity. May they embody humility as they bless and release outgoing leaders while welcoming those stepping into new roles.

For our nation, we pray:

  • God of all nations, we thank You for the freedom we exercise and the many blessings of democracy we enjoy in the United States of America.

  • Protect and guide all who devote themselves to the common good, working for justice and peace at home and abroad.

  • Bless all elected leaders and public servants with wisdom, humility, and discernment as they serve at national, state, and local levels.

  • Heal our differences, O Lord, and unite us with a common purpose, dedication, and commitment to achieve liberty and justice for all, especially the most vulnerable among us.

  • Guide our nation toward a future of peace, unity, and compassion.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (January 19, 2025):

Lord, we praise You for the gift of life, made in Your image and sustained by Your grace. We grieve the destruction of life at all stages and repent of our failure to uphold its sanctity.

  • For the Unborn: Grant strength, wisdom, and compassion to those facing difficult decisions. Inspire us to advocate for life and build nurturing, supportive communities.

  • For the Vulnerable: May those with disabilities know they are wonderfully made in Your image, reflecting Your glory. Guide us to demonstrate boundless love and advocacy.

  • For Those Near the End of Life: Provide peace and comfort to those in pain. Help us offer compassionate care and life-affirming solutions.

Bless the work of pregnancy centers, ministry leaders, and medical professionals dedicated to protecting and nurturing life. May Your grace empower them in their mission.

 For Our Communities:

  • Foster Care and Families: May foster parents be filled with God's wisdom, strength, and grace as they nurture children and manage their family needs. Bless organizations like Every Child as they partner with DHS to support vulnerable children.

  • Education: Pray for the safety and success of students, teachers, and staff returning to school. May God’s wisdom strengthen relationships and resolve conflicts.

  • Housing & Homelessness: Grant innovative solutions for housing challenges and raise believers to positions of influence, bringing compassion and Godly principles to these issues.

For Mid-Valley Women of Christ, we pray:

  • We thank the churches for hosting Alicia Marks’s The Matriarchs: Four Women Who Birthed a Nation and Changed History study this winter. Bless the study coordinators, protect them from illness, and draw women to be transformed by the power of Your Word.

  • Grant favorable weather for safe travels and open hearts to receive Your truths during this season of study.

  • Provide wisdom and guidance for the Board as we plan for our Praise Night on March 14, 2025. May this event glorify You and bring joy and unity to all who attend.

  • If you feel called to volunteer, contact us at info@midvalleywomenofchrist.org to learn more.
