August 2026 Prayer Targets

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything...You are the light of the world... let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16

 

For the Body of Christ:

• As Your image‑bearers, we rejoice in our calling to bring the flavor of God's goodness and the light that reveals Christ. May we recognize where we have lost our savor and grown ineffective; convict us where we have compromised.  Renew us in the Holy Spirit that we may preserve what is good, season our world with truth and grace, and shine the Light that always overcomes darkness ~ all to the glory of God.

 

For our world and nation:

• Praise God for Christian ministries coming to help the Church of Armenia minister to the needs of fleeing Iranians- Assyrian and Persian (Iranian) Christians as well as Muslims. Pray for effective witness across ethnic lines and receptive hearts of Muslims who've been shocked by the generosity of Christians. As they receive food, shelter, etc. we pray for supernatural love to overcome any fear, suspicion, and misunderstanding that would be cause for division. May their unity be a testimony to the transforming power of Christ's lordship.

• Lift up victims of the recent devastating earthquake in Japan. May believers be there to bring comfort, resources, and practical help for their recovery, 
   

• For resolution in the Middle East, we pray God's intervention to restrain evil, quell violence, and restore order. We intercede for breaking the power of hatred, revenge, deception, and the removal of those bent on destruction. Pray for leaders to seek peaceable wisdom, James 3:17-18
   

• For Oregon Right to Life, presenting their educational exhibits at this month's county fairs and the Oregon State Fair, August 28 through September 7. We pray for life-affirming conversations and decisions to result from seeing the truths of human development. May hearts be softened and eyes opened to the beauty of God's handiwork. • For the fire‑suppression crews stretched thin across Oregon, we ask for God’s supernatural strength and help for every person working on the ground and in the air. We pray for wise coordination and clear communication between all agencies involved. We ask for God’s protection and provision over their safety, endurance, and decision‑making, and for His mercy to preserve lives, communities, and the land.

 

Ministry Highlight:

We lift up preparations for Teen Reach Adventure Camp, locally sponsored by Jefferson Baptist Church. The goal is to provide hope to at-risk youth through a proven camp model specifically designed for foster youth.

For this special opportunity we pray:

• for spiritual preparation and protection over the staff and volunteers, with no last-

• minute hindrances or health issues

• for the campers' hearts to receive the Word of God through the daily Bible lessons; 

• for God's presence to bring a sense of safety, security, and love

• for kids to be able to engage and have fun!

• for teens who are ready for friendship/mentoring relationship to avail themselves of

• that opportunity through a special follow-up program designed to help them move

• forward in healing of abuse, abandonment, and neglect.
