January 2026 Prayer Targets

Therefore, brothers and sisters, stand firm and cling to the teachings we taught you...Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who by grace has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and deed.

For the Body of Christ, The Church, we pray:

Strength and comfort for Christians across India who have suffered attacks during worship services and caroling. Pray they do not give in to intimidation and fear, that their witness in their worship will bring conviction to the hearts of their persecutors. Holy Spirit encouragement for our pastors and leaders as they preach the word in season and out. May our congregations be unified in standing firm in God's word, being strengthened by grace as we serve as unto the Lord in every good word and deed.

 

That we minister God's comfort and eternal hope to those who are suffering loss, loneliness, disappointment, and hurt. Pray that in painful times, the promise of God's presence and faithfulness will be their strength.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, January 18, 2026

Pray blessings for the work done in our local pregnancy centers: Father, we praise You for the gift of life, made in Your image and sustained by Your grace! We grieve the destruction of life at all stages and repent of our failure to uphold its sanctity. Please strengthen those who serve all who are vulnerable to Satan’s plans for destruction. Bring light into the places of deception, that Your will may be done on earth as it is in heaven.

 

For our nation, may the Holy Spirit so move us to turn from our sin and rebellion against God and become a populace that honors His Word, transforming us into a life-promoting society! We pray for our government leaders to rely on and submit to God's wisdom to fulfill their duties as public servants.  

 

For our Washington and California neighbors suffering from devastating floods and landslides, we pray God's protection, provision, and comfort. Pray for the Christian ministries to bring the love of Christ as they assist in their rebuilding and recovery. 

 

For our Communities, we pray:

For parents' engagement and diligence to guard children's online safety, being mindful of predators who groom through friendship on gaming and social media platforms. For teachers and students returning to school, we pray that God's supernatural wisdom, patience, and creative strategies will reach students whose attention is scattered and whose teachability has been worn down by many distractions. May teachers be supported in dealing compassionately with difficult behaviors while protecting the learning environment for all students.

 

God's blessings for Perspectives: a 15-lesson, multi-faceted discipleship course exploring God's creative plan to use His people, gifted to fulfill His plan and promise to bring Christ to every nation, tribe, and people. Mid-Valley Women of Christ

Pray God's preparing women's hearts and schedules to join our next community-wide Bible study, “Heaven: When Faith Becomes Sight”, by Jennifer Rothschild, beginning the week of January 19, 2026!  
 

Pray God's blessing on the host churches to welcome women from their community, and for the teams of women stepping up to coordinate the study. 

 

Pray for the MVWC board as we host the kick-off breakfast for these leadership teams, that they leave built-up and excited for God's plans to unfold for the women He brings.
