Growing up in a pastor’s home, Elaine saw her parents devote their lives in service to the Lord. With a strong desire to see the women in our region experience freedom in Christ, she joined the Mid-Valley Women of Christ board in June of 2019, bringing many years of experience in various areas of ministry in the Church. As a single mom with three boys, she met her husband, Dan, who also had three boys. Blending their families was hard work, and for several years, she and her husband led Divorce Care classes to minister to people hurting from the pain of divorce. When their sons were grown, and their nest was empty, Elaine seized the opportunity to return to school to complete her education. She did her undergraduate work at WOU and received her master’s degree in education from Willamette University. After teaching fourth grade for many years, Elaine retired, looking forward to the freedom to spend time with her grandchildren and to volunteer in various areas. She has a passion for encouraging women in their walk of faith, for seeing them grow in their knowledge of the Lord and for learning their identity in Christ.
